Inspired by the myth of Orfeo, and the opera Orfeo ed Euridice by Christoph Willibald Gluck, Orfeo speaks of the ultimate choice to live, love and create through impossible barriers. In a quest to achieve ultimate freedom, Orfeo descended into the underworld, demanding life and love.
Orfeo looks at the characteristics and presentational aspects of Orfeo, as the ultimate actor/musician that lives, dies, and lives again. The duet re-examines and recreates the 'act of dying' through witty, often humorist dramaturgy. It asks to deconstruct the key elements and motives of the story, and divert it into a contemporary observation, re-creating its themes through the intimate story of the fragile body.
